Getting in a Steve Irwin memorial Deviant entry here. It's really sad that as I write this, his wife doesn't even know he's dead yet. I guess she knew what she was getting in to (I mean, have you seen the pictures of her with the mountain lions from before she married Steve?), but man, that sucks.

He will be missed. All the Australians I knew hated him because he spoke with an exaggerated accent (broad, I think? [link] ). Anyway, I loved him for all the stupid, stupid stuff he did and in putting his life on the line, he got people interested in the plight of endangered animals--especially those that aren't cute and cuddly.

Because no Steve Irwin memorial internet thread is complete without it, here's some Hamlet for you:
